Winter Park
A good time was had by all in Winter Park.  Couldn't have asked for better company.  I am so grateful to my parents who watched Oli and Stevie so that we could ride bikes.  Tom crashed super hard, and had a really bad concussion, jacked his shoulder, and hamburgered his back.  We were really bummed it put an end to his riding, and hope his shoulder is okay.

I D A H O

We spent the 4th of July in Malad and witnessed the wonderful Malad Parade.  There is nothing better.  No crowds, short and sweet, and they keep the kidos (and adults) busy by throwing tons of candy.
Later that day, we drove to Idaho falls and watched the best firework show I have ever seen.  It was a Finale for 30 minutes straight.
Brad's cousin, Mitch, was married that weekend so we spent the rest of the weekend in Idaho Falls and Heise.  Their wedding was at a beautiful ranch with the cutest red barn.  The wedding was super pretty.  I loved the rustic atmosphere.  CONGRATS to Mitch and Amanda Freeman. A good time was had by all.
The next day, we drove up to Teton Pass and rode one of my favorite trails, Jimmy's Mom.  No bikes or bones were broken...Yeehaw!  It was a bummer Madi, my sister in law, couldn't ride with us.  She had ridden the trail a few days previous.  She wrecked and had a good size gash on her elbow.  After riding, Tyler )her husband and her drove to Idaho Falls.  We all thought she needed stitches so instead of going to the emergency room, my brother in law Matt stitched her up with no medicine.  She is one tough chica.

CALIFORNIA

I love trips that aren't planned and this was one of them.  My mother-in-law, Jill, and I decided to go to California so we hopped in the car the next day and went.  While on the way, we called my sister-in-law Ashly, who lives in Portland to see if by chance they could come.  We thought it was a long shot but figured it was worth a shot.  Well, 3 plane tickets later they were in California as well.  We had a blast.  I can't believe how stinkin' cute the cousins are, especially when they are together.  We went to Sea World.  Oli calls it the "Sea Park".  The kids loved it.  Then we beached it the rest of the week.  There is nothing better than a giant sand box and an ocean that you can play in.

RAGNARNIA
Logan to park City
Every year, I forget how hard Ragnar is, especially after a marathon.  My knees were killing and I am hoping they will heal quickly.  It was a lot of fun running with my dad and brother, Derek.  Sierra's dad, AJ, also ran.  The old men killed it! While I was hobbling, AJ was doing high jumps and high knees before he  ran.  While I was sleeping, Brent was enjoying a nice hot breakfast and reading the Rag Mag.  It seemed they were not phased by Ragnarnia.

Our official time was 28:16.  We were 13th in our division out of 800 teams. 48th overall out of 1100 teams.
Good Times!

A Piece of Heaven

Love this place with these people!

UTAH VALLEY MARATHON

Sierra looks way too happy.  All of these pictures were taken at mile 21.
Steve Carell ran the marathon as well...
Completed Marathon #2, and it was harder than the first for me.  It was fun to do it with Jamie and Sierra.  Sierra qualified for Boston...YEEHAW!

CATARACT CANYON

Just got back from a 4 day Cat trip and loved every minute.  We couldn't have been with a better group.  We definitely missed Justin on this trip, but was excited Ashly could make it before the trek to Portland.  I feel so lucky to have family that are also best friends. Man, I enjoyed so many things on this trip, but here are a few of my favorites:
  • Sleeping Under The Stars
  • Being in The Desert (I forget how rad it really is)
  • Dark Canyon Hike- (have never been in mud up to my chest...there's a first for everything)
  • cooking outside
  • rapid day
  • Spending quality time with friends/family
I definitely missed Stevie and Oliver.  It was my first trip away from Miss Stevie.  We didn't have cell phone service.  After the trip, I called Jill, my Mother-in-Law, only to find out Stevie and Oliver both had hand foot and mouth along with their cousin Rocko.  3 sick kids for 4 days!  Thanks for being such a trooper Jill.  You are amazing.
